Here to Help! with Tina Finbow – Friday 25th April 2025 (10am – 3pm)

Here to Help! This is a new style of Sit & Sew Day with me in the background if you need a little help with your project.  This is mainly aimed at Patchwork and Quilting, or finishing off projects that you may have started on a workshop at the cabin.  It will not include Dressmaking, as this is not an area I cover.

It is help, not a full day’s teaching.  Often you know what you are doing, but need a little help and guidance with your project.

It will need to be booked in advance of the date.

Hannibal the Elephant with Aitchbee – Saturday 26th April 2025 (10am – 4pm)

Brand NEW Workshop:-

The sample for this is hanging in the cabin. 

In Aitchbee’s words:-

This jolly fellow would make a brilliant cushion front or bag panel and all that detail is created by Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP). Some experience of FPP would be useful for this class, but is not essential for a confident sewist since I will be giving you step-by-step instructions. Each student will receive a full set of instructions, with colour photographs and diagrams, to complete the project at home. This is a machine sewing class.

Beginners Quilt with Tina Finbow – Saturday 10th & Saturday 17th May 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This course is based over 2 sessions (Saturday 10^th & Saturday 17th May 2025), and you will make a small lap quilt.  It is aimed at Beginners and you will learn how to accurately cut your fabric, piece the fabric with a ¼” seam, attach a border, layer up with wadding and a backing, machine quilt and then attach a continuous binding.

You will need your sewing machine with a ¼” foot and a walking foot, plus a rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat for this course. Plus your standard sewing kit.

These are the essentials of Patchwork and Quilting.

Pick ‘n’ Mix Quilt with Tina Finbow – Saturday 31st May 2025 (10am – 4pm)

An Ideal Quilt for Confident Beginners, as well as the Experienced Quilters. On the course you will make the quilt top,  

You can work with a jelly roll or cut the strips to work with. Pre-cutting would be advisable so that you can achieve more on the day.  Information on cutting will be given with the requirements list.

The sample quilt is in the cabin, if you would like to have a look at it.

Lexicon Book Cushion with Aitchbee – Saturday 24th May 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This is a Brand New Workshop with Aitchbee and suitable for Beginners.

In Aitchbee’s words:-

This is a great beginners project and is also fun for more experienced sewists. Based on charm squares – buy a pre-cut pack or cut your own to make this super simple design that looks complicated! Includes a handle so your little ones can take their book to their favourite reading nook. An easy-to-sew envelope back completes this delightful project. Each student will receive a full set of instructions, with colour photographs and diagrams, to complete the project at home. This is a machine sewing class. Finished size approx. 16 x 16 inches

Needle Felted Chicken with Sarah Brown – Saturday 7th June 2025 (10am – 1pm)

This is a Brand New Workshop with Sarah and ideal for Beginners to Needle Felting.

You will make this very cute Chicken.  Sarah will supply a kit for £7 per person, which is payable to Sarah on the day.

Scrap Buster Zipped Pouch with Tina Finbow – Sunday 8th June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

A fun workshop – you can use your scraps of fabric – or if you prefer you can pick your own colourway to work with.

During the day you will create your own piece of quilted fabric which you will then make into a Zipped Pouch – with a really easy method of putting a zip in.

You will need either your ¼” foot, open toe foot or walking foot, rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat on the day, with a little bit of easy prepping before the day to ensure you get your zipped pouch finish during the workshop.

Bowl Making with Tina Finbow – Sunday 15th June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

Back by popular demand is my Bowl Making workshop.

They are such fun to make using all sorts of items from Wool to Scrim, threads to organza with various other items too.  The workshop fee includes one pack of Heavy Dissolvable Film.

You will need your sewing machine for this workshop, with a walking foot and darning/free motion foot.

Mono Print Magic with Mary McIntosh – Saturday 21st June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This is a Brand New workshop with Mary McIntosh.

You will work with leaves to mono print onto semi-transparent fabric and then you will use your printed fabrics to stitch in the contemporary Pojagi piecing method. The outcome will be a unique double sided semi-transparent panel ideal to hang in a window or against a pale wall. The size can be adapted to fit your space.

Mary will provide the acrylic inks and the white and coloured cotton organdie fabric for £15

Flying Squad Zipped Pouch with Aitchbee – Sunday 29th June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This is a Brand NEW workshop at The Cosy Cabin.

Aitchbee will be teaching this new style zipped pouch which opens out flat, making it ideal for sewing items, travel jewellery pouch and many more ideas.

It’s called Flying Squad as there is a section of Flying Geese in the design, however, Aitchbee will be offering a more simplified design for those that are new to Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP).

Large Bosal Zipped Pouch with Tina Finbow – Sunday 6th July 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This is a fun Brand NEW workshop, where you will create your piece of fabric to then make your Zipped Pouch with.

The design uses Jelly Roll Strips (2 ½” wide strips of fabric), which can be from a Jelly Roll or cut from fabrics of your choice.  Bosal is used to give the shape to the zipped pouch.  It’s great for all sorts of uses from craft through to a travel pouch.

You will need a walking foot for your sewing machine for this workshop.
