Zipped Pouch with Tina Finbow

Back by Popular Demand – this Zipped Pouch can be made with or without a water proof lining.

It is a lovely usable zipped pouch and they make great gifts too. Ideal workshop for those new to sewing – but must be able to use a sewing machine.

You will need your Sewing Machine for this workshop and you will need to bring the zipper foot with you too.

Log Cabin with Tina Finbow

Log cabin is a great technique for making a quilt top – as it is easily scaled up, and for a quick quilt top you can use Jelly Roll strips (2 ½” width strips) or work with smaller strips for a more detailed quilt top.  On this one day workshop we will work through the basics of a traditional block – and look at the options for a quilt top – whether it is a large quilt or a lap quilt.  And a scrappy quilt top can be great fun too – if you can do scrappy and random.  Here is a quilt I made for Rudi’s birthday a couple of years ago to give you some ideas.

Beginners Quilt with Tina Finbow

Have you had a Sewing Machine or Quilting items for Christmas?  If you have, this might be just the workshop for you to start on your patchwork path.

This course is based over 2 sessions (Sunday 11^th & Sunday 25^th January 2026), and you will make a small lap quilt.  It is aimed at Beginners and you will learn how to accurately cut your fabric, piece the fabric with a ¼” seam, attach a border, layer up with wadding and a backing, machine quilt and then attach a continuous binding.

You will need your sewing machine with a ¼” foot and a walking foot, plus a rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat for this course. Plus your standard sewing kit.

These are the essentials of Patchwork and Quilting.

Flowers in a Vase with Tina Finbow

This is a Brand New Workshop – making this panel which could be a wall hanging or centre for a quilt.  You will make the background for the panel and then add your flowers/leaves and stems and vase using applique.

The flowers do not have to be poppies, you can add flowers of your choice – even a vase of mixed flowers.

You will need a ¼” foot and walking foot with your machine and a freemotion/darning foot would be an advantage for the applique.

Not suitable for Beginners.

Marylebone Bear with Aitchbee

This is a Brand New Workshop with Aitchbee and the 1^st of 3 bears that Helen has created in her Sleepy Bear Series.

As always – they are absolutely stunning pieces of work.

Marylebone is the Sleepy Black Bear – ideal as a pillow or wall hanging – some experience of Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) would be an advantage.

Table for Two Place Setting with Tina Finbow

This is a Brand New Workshop, where you will make this Table Place setting mat – the idea is to place it across the table for 2 people to use, you can then make more if you have more people dining.  Alternatively you could use it as a standard Table Runner.

Not suitable for Beginners, you will need your sewing machine with a ¼” foot and a Walking Foot.

Liberty Book Cover with Aitchbee

This workshop is back by popular demand – Come and have a great day with Aitchbee, making these fabulous book covers, which then make great gifts.

In Helen’s words:-

Skill Level: Confident beginners and onwards

Finished size: approx. 8 x 6 x 1 inches (depending on the A5 notebook/diary you bring to the workshop!)

Narrative: The spikes on this New York Beauty style book cover remind me of the Statue of Liberty; hence the name (nothing to do with fabric company, although this would look lovely made in Liberty’s fabric!) In addition to full tuition for the wraparound Foundation Paper Pieced motif on this lovely book jacket I will be showing you how to make a jacket that fits snugly on your A5 hardbacked book or diary. These make beautiful gifts and with the skills you learn on the workshop you will be able to make covers for any size or shape of hardbacked book or album. Each student will receive a full set of instructions, with colour photographs and diagrams, to complete the project at home. This is a machine sewing class.

Bargello with Tina Finbow

Bargello is such a fun Patchwork technique, with which you can create some intriguing designs.

On this workshop you will create a panel, either a starting point for a quilt using a jelly roll, or you can work smaller and create a cushion front/side for a bag etc.

Suitable for a confident beginner.

You will need a ¼” foot for your sewing machine for this course.

Free Motion Quilting with Lynne Pretty

Lynne Pretty is back with us teaching Free Motion Quilting.  It’s a technique that we are often asked about, so this is ideal for Beginners.  A great workshop to learn the basics and build your skill and confidence.

You will need a Free Motion/Darning/Embroidery foot for your sewing machine to do this workshop.
