Scrap Buster Zipped Pouch with Tina Finbow – Sunday 8th June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

A fun workshop – you can use your scraps of fabric – or if you prefer you can pick your own colourway to work with.

During the day you will create your own piece of quilted fabric which you will then make into a Zipped Pouch – with a really easy method of putting a zip in.

You will need either your ¼” foot, open toe foot or walking foot, rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat on the day, with a little bit of easy prepping before the day to ensure you get your zipped pouch finish during the workshop.

Here to Help! with Tina Finbow – Friday 13th June 2025 (10am – 3pm)

Here to Help! This is a new style of Sit & Sew Day with me in the background if you need a little help with your project.  This is mainly aimed at Patchwork and Quilting, or finishing off projects that you may have started on a workshop at the cabin.  It will not include Dressmaking, as this is not an area I cover.

It is help, not a full day’s teaching.  Often you know what you are doing, but need a little help and guidance with your project.

It will need to be booked in advance of the date.

Seminole Patchwork with Tina Finbow – Saturday 14th June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

Back by Popular Demand – you will make a selection of different Seminole Patchwork pieces and then assemble them into a front for a cushion.  It’s a great way of trying out several of the Seminole Patchwork techniques and using them, rather than putting them into your stash.

You will need your sewing machine with ¼” foot, a cutting mat, rotary cutter and ruler, preferably a ruler with a 45 degree line marked onto it.

It is one of my favourite styles of patchwork and gives great results.

Cathedral Window (Machined) with Tina Finbow – Sunday 15th June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

Back by Popular Demand.

This method of Cathedral Window is all sewn on your machine – so it’s much quicker than hand sewing.  The piece you make could be for a Cushion, a Table Runner, and Table Centre mat, Placemats, Side to a Bag, the options are endless.  But it’s fun too.  You will need your sewing machine with an open toe foot, ¼” foot and a walking foot, if you have one.

Mono Print Magic with Mary McIntosh – Saturday 21st June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This is a Brand New workshop with Mary McIntosh.

You will work with leaves to mono print onto semi-transparent fabric and then you will use your printed fabrics to stitch in the contemporary Pojagi piecing method. The outcome will be a unique double sided semi-transparent panel ideal to hang in a window or against a pale wall. The size can be adapted to fit your space.

Mary will provide the acrylic inks and the white and coloured cotton organdie fabric for £15

Sew in Love Quilt Top with Tina Finbow – Starting Sunday 22nd June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This is a Brand NEW 4 session course – where you will make the ‘Sew in Love’ Quilt Top.  This is designed by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts, and I have very kindly been given permission to teach the course.

A requirement of being given permission to teach is you will need to purchase a copy of the Book – Sew in Love – by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts.

As always on my courses, you will have homework.  This course is not suitable for beginners.

Flying Squad Zipped Pouch with Aitchbee – Sunday 29th June 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This is a Brand NEW workshop at The Cosy Cabin.

Aitchbee will be teaching this new style zipped pouch which opens out flat, making it ideal for sewing items, travel jewellery pouch and many more ideas.

It’s called Flying Squad as there is a section of Flying Geese in the design, however, Aitchbee will be offering a more simplified design for those that are new to Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP).

Large Bosal Zipped Pouch with Tina Finbow – Sunday 6th July 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This is a fun Brand NEW workshop, where you will create your piece of fabric to then make your Zipped Pouch with.

The design uses Jelly Roll Strips (2 ½” wide strips of fabric), which can be from a Jelly Roll or cut from fabrics of your choice.  Bosal is used to give the shape to the zipped pouch.  It’s great for all sorts of uses from craft through to a travel pouch.

You will need a walking foot for your sewing machine for this workshop.

Beginners Free Motion Quilting with Lynne Pretty – Saturday 12th July 2025 (10am – 4pm)

Lynne Pretty is back with us teaching Free Motion Quilting.  It’s a technique that we are often asked about, so this is ideal for Beginners.  A great workshop to learn the basics and build your skill and confidence.

You will need a Free Motion/Darning/Embroidery foot for your sewing machine to do this workshop.

Log Cabin Tote Bag with Tina Finbow – Sunday 13th July 2025 (10am – 4pm)

This is a Brand NEW workshop – to make a Tote Bag with an inset section of Log Cabin.

This workshop is suitable for a Confident Beginner.  You will need to do some pre-cutting before the workshop to enable you to complete your Tote Bag on the day.  But it is all very straight forward cutting.

Ideally you will need your ¼” foot and walking foot for your sewing machine – as you will be using bosal as your wadding.

Pick ‘n’ Mix Quilt with Tina Finbow – Sunday 20th July 2025 (10am – 4pm)

Due to the popularity of this workshop – here is a NEW date.

An Ideal Quilt for Confident Beginners, as well as the Experienced Quilters. On the course you will make the quilt top,

You can work with a jelly roll or cut the strips to work with. Pre-cutting would be advisable so that you can achieve more on the day.  Information on cutting will be given with the requirements list.

The sample quilt is in the cabin, if you would like to have a look at it.
