Storm at Sea with Tina Finbow

Following the Success from the first course we have a Brand NEW date for the workshop making a Storm at Sea Quilt Top – This 2 session course will be using the Acrylic Templates from Crafty-UK – to make your 12” blocks – they are included in the price of the course.  Over the 2 sessions – you will learn about designing your colour flow for your Storm at Sea – as there are some lovely designs that can be created – create your design on paper – then we will go through how the acrylic templates work and then make the blocks.  This is a very effective design which gives the impression of curves but they are all straight lines.  A gap has been built in between the dates to give students time to start making their sections for the quilt top.

This course is not suitable for Absolute Beginners to Patchwork & Quilting.

This course is only being taught using the Acrylic Templates.

Workshop Fee £130 which includes your Acrylic Templates (This does not include materials)

Kawandi with Lynne Pretty

If you like hand sewing this is a lovely workshop, which we last held in February 2024.

In Lynn’s words:-

Kawandi means quilt in India. This technique was brought to India, possibly as long ago as 800 years, by East African settlers and enslaved Africans who were transported to India’s west coast in the 16th Century. Their descendants today are the marginalised Siddi people and they are mainly settled in Karnataka, on the west coast of India. Scraps of fabric, traditionally recycled saris, are hand quilted onto a background fabric. No piecing involved!!!

This is a lovely hand sewing workshop.

Workshop Fee – £48.00 (This does not include materials)
