On this 4 hour workshop you will learn the basics about your sewing machine including tensions, cleaning the sewing machine to prolong its life, what the different feet do plus more. This is another lovely new workshop with Sarah, where you will make Poppy Pig. Young people are welcome to join the class, but they must be accompanied by an adult (age 10+). Sarah will supply the kit on the day for an additional fee of £5 which is payable in cash.Find out more »
This lovely workshop with Linda is ideal for beginners and the more experienced at sewing. You will mainly use your straight stitch on your sewing machine and working with a mixture of all types of fabrics you will create this Meadow scene. The stitched piece of work is then enhanced with paints and hand sewing.
A pack of a variety of fabrics can be purchased from Linda on the day for £3.50 (cash only) if you struggle to get a selection of fabrics yourself.
Come and spend the day sewing at The Cosy Cabin with Jacky our tutor on hand to help you with quilting techniques (excludes dressmaking). This isn’t a teaching workshop but an opportunity to work on your own projects with the knowledge that someone is here to help you.Find out more »

I know from experience that we often buy rulers and have a dabble with using them, but there is nothing better than a day with Angela who will teach you all the fine details about using and perfecting your use of the rulers.Find out more »
Lynne will be back with us again with this popular workshop where you will learn the basics of Free Motion Quilting. It’s a very enjoyable day where you will be guided through the different styles of Free Motion, so that by the end of the day you will be able to go home and practice more. You will need a Free Motion/Darning/Embroidery foot for your sewing machine. Prior to the workshop can you please familiarise yourself with how to lower your feed dogs on your sewing machine. The ‘Jewel’ Quilt – ‘Quilt as you Go’ – 6 Month Course with Angela Attwood Using Sampler Set 1 Westalee Rulers
We are very pleased to be hosting Angela’s 6 month course again ‘Quilt as You Go’ Jewel Quilt where you will produce this amazing quilt, designed by Angela, using the Sampler Set 1 Westalee Rulers. You will need to have been on the Beginners Course as a minimum for experience, but ideally you will have completed the 2 Day Sampler Course. The dates are all Sunday’s –
22nd September, 13th October, 24th November, 5th January 2020, 2nd February 2020 and 8th March 2020. The course fee is £360.00; you will pay a deposit of £180.00 on enrolment with the balance of £180.00 due by the 21st August 2019.
Once enrolled the workshop fees are non-refundable unless we are able to sell your place.
You will need to purchase the Jewel Quilt Book for the course.

Janet will be teaching this lovely technique to make a ‘Storm at Sea’ Quilt top over 3 sessions:- Saturday 28th September, Saturday 12th October and Saturday 2nd November 2019. As there are so many options with designs, on the first session Janet will work through with you the design you would like to do, and the fabric requirements for your design. So if you have fabrics you want to use, please bring them with you for session 1. There is also an option to resize the quilt to make it bigger. The technique will be foundation pieced for accuracy.Find out more »
Following a very successful workshop with Kathleen in June, we have this new workshop coming up – Mixed Media Machine Embroidery Free Standing Scroll.
You will need your free motion foot for your sewing machine and be able to drop you feed dogs to do this workshop.
All Workshops must be booked and paid for when booked.
We are unable to refund any workshop fees unless cancellation is made
3 weeks before the class and then we can only refund 50% of the fee.
Once you have enrolled you will be sent a requirement list.
All Saturday workshops are from 10am to 4pm. Unless otherwise stated
The Cosy Cabin will be open from 9.30am on the day of the workshop so you can select and purchase your fabrics with the assistance of the tutor (if required).
We now have Sewing Machines that are available to hire for Workshops at £5.00 per day – please ask us for more details.
